it disappeared from the app section on readynas portal. i tried to resinstall it and it says i can not install. failed to install but wont give a ready. i don’t know how to install via ssh i normally upload through readynas admin portal in apps section. someone please help.
Hi rickmaz, I run plex server on a readynas 314 and it’s been getting increasingly erratic - to the point it won’t run now - over the last two years. I don’t think you’ll find much support here. Perhaps I’m wrong but I’ve been wrestling with these issues myself and can’t find any information here.
I’m a plex pass subscriber too - starting to think I wasted my money.
The best I can suggest is to figure out how to connect to your NAS so you can look up the plex server logs. There’s a small chance you might get something useful there (I have not). My only cure has been a complete delete/uninstall of the server. A fresh install. A new scan of all my media (yes - losing all the customisations I poured time into).
Genuinely - best of luck with this - from one disillusioned Plex user to another.
I’d kiss off support for NAS devices, let the NAS be a NAS, buy a Raspberry Pi for $40, install raspian, then plexmediaserver. Have it NFS mount your NAS with all your media. Works great, been running mine for 3+ years, never a problem playing media from the NAS. Just my $.02.
