Plex Support for Live TV Streamed Over the Internet

Does anyone know if Plex intends to support streamed live TV providers such as Sling TV, Play Station Vue, Hulu Live, Directv Live, etc. Or, if they might establish their own offering. I am trying to eliminate cable and simplify. Having everything served by Plex over Roku would be a good thing for me. Getting local over the air capability is a good start.

Considering those are mostly paid services, my guess is it’s unlikely to see this anytime soon. On the other hand… now there’s the Tidal integration – so never say never.

As for your particular situation… don’t those services have official channels on Roku?

They do, however, in the spirit of simplifying… Looking at the Silicon Dust web page, while looking for a tuner to access ota tv, I found that they partner with Plex and claim that the premium package they offer will be compatible with Plex which, I assume, means that it is accessible through Plex. Be interesting to see if it works.

Yes, it works though there can be EPG issues if you’re also using a tuner (for OTA for example). It has pretty much worked since the launch. Search the forum for: HDHomeRun Premium TV
