I have noticed that in the latest Plex App (7.23) playback info shows mp3 instead of opus. My server version is 1.18.1. Was there a switch in this regard and did Plex switch back to mp3 recently? Or is this some bug?
Unfortunately I have no root access, therefore no way to verify the format of the actually synced files.
It depends on the bitrate limits you chose when they were synced. Opus is only used if PMS had to transcode them. If transcoding was not needed, they will sync as-is.
source file is flac, so it was definitely transcoded.
