I have an issue with Plex, used in a brower and in the Android app. The issue has happened to me on both Windows 10, Ubuntu and the latest version of Android. I tend to use Brave on both Windows and Linux but the issue has also occurred in Firefox on Ubuntu, I use the Android app on Android. Occasionally I will select a video from my library and when it plays, it is selected. Meaning the entire full screen video has a blue overlay as thought it were text that was selected. Also occasionally, and it doesn’t always correspond to when the video is “selected”, when one episode of a show flips over to the next there is a 10 second countdown screen - all of the text in that screen will be selected. It’s easy to unselect both issues, click/tap in the video, it pauses but the selection is removed. Click somewhere in the text and it is unselected. Then it randomly happens again in a few hours or days. I haven’t been able to pin down any one thing I am doing - accidentally clicking or swiping text with my mouse or finger, for instance. Anyone else have this issue and/or know of a solution?
Text selection is usually triggered by a longer press on a touch screen.
Maybe you are inadvertently doing this just by holding the device? I’ve encountered some devices which have such a small border around the touch sensitive screen, that one is triggering a touch quite often, just by holding it.
Some devices provide global settings to adjust the sensitivity and timing of long/short pressing.
Hi Otto, thanks for the reply.
That makes sense on my android tablet but not on my windows 10 desktop, Ubuntu desktop and Ubuntu laptop, none of which have touch capability.
Then maybe a poor-working mouse which detects movement while you are simply clicking the left button?
