There's something screwy with selection in some of my libraries

Recently I’ve noticed some odd behaviour with what Plex things is the selected item and what it lists at the selected item when you long press the the Apple TV remote to bring up the context menu.

What happens is you select a movie, long press, and it tells you it’s another movie. Cancel out and do it again and now it things it is the correct, selected, movie. This is repeatable and highly annoying. So far I’v spotted it in my movies library and in one of my Other Videos libraries.

This has the series potential to lead to data loss (not sure). For example, I think I may have just deleted a movie that I didn’t mean to, because I was expecting the popup menu to actually work on the movie I had selected. If it performed the delete on a movie other than what was actually selected and you don’t notice, then that is a serious issue.

Has anyone else seen this?

Running the 1.13 (6188) beta

For some additional detail, I replaced the beta with the current Apple TV App Store release and this problem doesn’t seem to occur in the release build, so I’m reasonably confident that this is an issue with the beta build.

Updated to beta 1.14 (6281) and I still see this broken behaviour.

Still broken in beta 1.15 (6451)

Still broken in beta 1.16 (6629).

Could someone from Plex please at least acknowledge that they’ve seen these reports? What’s the point in spending my time reporting issues if they aren’t acknowledged and definitely aren’t getting fixed?

Still broken in beta 1.17 (6818)

There’s a bug related to this problem - if you hit delete PMS will delete the wrong movie.

Are you saying that it says it will delete movie 1 but actually deletes movie 2? Or just that because the selection is wrong you can delete the wrong movie by accident? Because the later is definitely true with the selection problem.

I can reproduce and I’ll report internally!

It’s been fixed internally, and scheduled for the mid-October release.

Excellent. Thanks Elan.

Beta 1.18 appears to have fixed these issues.
