Plex themes / font colors

Got fed up using the Roku and then a WD Home NAS to stream my media and switched to a Dell Optiplex Mini running Windows 10 Pro attached to my 40-inch flat screen via HDMI - sweet! However, it’s next to impossible to read the text on my TV from about 7 feet across the room as the Plex app theme is deep charcoal and the text is a slightly lighter gray. I think there’s no in-house themes for Plex - only third party maybe? So is this a feature I should be suggesting?

From what I’ve seen, you can now pick from a number of themes in Apple TV, Android TV and the Smart TV apps w/ Roku yet to receive that update (soonish).

If you’re using that Optiplex as a HTPC you might want to look into Plex HTPC (instead of PMP or Plex for Windows) – though Plex HTPC appears not to have received the theme update yet it should give you a better experience w/ regards to readability.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am using the Optiplex as my HTPC so was viewing my libraries via Firefox. Switched to the Roku Plex app (my TV is a 2014 model without the builtin app so am using a Roku box), and the Roku Plex app is much easier to read. Will look into Plex HTPC. Thanks again!

2024 clean-up: considered to be resolved (no feature suggestion but picking the right apps for a use case).
