Plex to support Battlemage GPUs

I’m currently using the Docker container of Plex and want to enable transcoding on my Intel Arc Pro B50. I’ve tested FFMPEG on the system itself and also Jellyfin and both work with the card.

However because Plex seems to be using an older version of intel-media-driver it doesn’t seem to be supported.

I did find some older information but I’m curious what the latest status is:

As previously stated: FFMPEG must first be updated (6.1 will be forum preview shortly) Intel Compute Runtime must be updated Intel Media Driver (which supports the card) must be updated ICR and IMD will be updated after FFMPEG is production status. I’ve no information from Engineering whether they’ll be updated together or separately. ( ICR and IMD updates always break something for the older systems, which will need a custom patch applied )

As has been stated elsewhere in the forum,

1. FFMPEG 6.1 upgrade will bring the necessary FFMPEG support
2. Subsequent to FFMPEG 6.1 deployment and confirmation, ICR and IMD will be updated current versions.
