truehd->eac
7.1->
cannot direct play w protocol http
its means its downgrade the 7.1 sound to 5.1? because my tv dont support atmos?
nas on lan, soundbar in arc hdmi connected to arc tv port.. Netflix also not show atmos logo.
or something else…?
thank you!
Most TVs do not support 7.1 True HD and Atmos audio and will be transcoded. If you want Atmos you will need to get an Nvidia Shield and suggest the Pro. It is the only device that supports Atmos. Your TV and sound bar needs to support E-ARC as Atmos requires more bandwidth that ARC does not support. Also make sure you have a E-ARC compliant HDMI cable.
Thank you! My sound bar have arc/earc port, but in my tv have only arc port. I will good with this setup and nvidia pro? Plugged in to soundbar hdmi in?
i only need a real 5.1 experience (must buy plus two rear speaker)
Plex need this shield or enough a new chromecast? or without nvidia or chromecast with my qnap plex server and 5.1 speakers itt will work?
The Plex app on Samsung TVs cannot direct play TrueHD audio (the audio format is not supported by the TV).
When selected for playback, TrueHD audio is transcoded by Plex Media Server to a compatible format. In your case it is EAC3 7.1.
Since your TV supports ARC, not eARC, only 5.1 channels will be passed to your soundbar (I do not know if the other two channels are downmixed or just dropped).
If you want 4K HDR video and TrueHD 7.1 + Atmos audio, buy a Nvidia Shield Pro and connect it to a HDMI input on the soundbar. You will also gain support for dts/dts-HD/dts:X audio formats.
Note: Do not buy the Shield non-Pro “tube” model. It has issues with high bit rate media, such as 4K HDR Blu-ray rips with TrueHD + Atmos audio. It is prone to audio drop outs.
