Plex Web causes a lot of disk writes on the client

After looking for something in my Task Manager, I found that Firefox was writing about 2 to 10 MB/s of data to disk.
After some further debugging (disabling extensions, starting on a brand new Firefox Profile), it looks like that Plex Web is writing all transcode parts to (supposedly) the browser’s cache.
I also found out that using a Private Navigation window sometimes clears the issue, which reinforces the idea of transcode parts being cached.

Is there any explanation to why is this happening?
This also doesn’t happen using the desktop app.
