hmm i dont see the little icon to change stuff anymore, it does not even show “continue watching” anymore on the plex web, it does on phone, but not on plex web which is quite frustrating, everytime it gets updated i just feel good features are going away for no reason what so ever

Which Icon are you concerned about?
The following does offer some customization options, with limitations.
Mouse over or Mouse hover and the second and Third Screen shot settings appears.
There is a bug with Merge, if you have Other Videos, it will disappear from home screen if enabled. Music Libraries seem to be problematic as well.
It’s the little pen in the top right beside the grid size slider it’s gone on Plex web home page
That’s gone unfortunately. Edit tool has been changed like described above.
So… A “continue watching” is not available anymore? Is there a possibility that option could be added to what you just showed with the “manage recommendations” cause it was so nice to just be able to click it as soon as you launched Plex and just start watching
The Continue Watching Titles will have a progress line at the bottom of the poster as indicated 
︎ . Which is very defined in that it indicates amount played and not played. The Titles without a progress line means the next Episode up. 
See you have that “continue watching” segment, I don’t have one it’s just not there
