Plex Web Export

It's now good. I reach you index and all is displaying good...

Hi JeninHK, when I click on that link I see your Plex Library (or more specifically the DVDs for sale section). Plex Export can only show the data from the server it was exported from, so it shouldn’t make a difference which computer you view it on (note: view it on. If you re-run the exporter on another computer, you will get a different export). As for mobile, there may be some issues as I only added it in as a quick extra and never really tested.

Thanks both. Yep, Dachande663, I wasn’t running the exporter again on the other Mac but the data the html displays is definitely from the other data, which is rather odd. But no matter…I’ve achieved what I needed to. Thanks so much!

Hi,

I have a question. I started the php command with url parameter of my plex media server.

The output somehow seems not to work.

After opening the index.html it says “Loading” and never finishes.

Any hint what I could do here ?

Running script on Mac OS X 10.8.2.

Thanks

@Hygie, what browser and URL are you using? Chrome and some of the others are getting stricter with security so if you see file://… it will not be able to open the file. You’ll need to put it online somewhere, Dropbox is an easy way: http://db.tt/d9mS2F3A

Hi,

using Safari on Mac OS X 10.8.2.

Will try to put it online.

Not working via Dropbox as well… just showing “Loading …”

Any chance you can send me a link (reply or PM) and I’ll try and take a look. I’ve been pulled away from Plex Export recently so haven’t kept it up to date too much unfortunately :frowning:

Hi,

even your Preview Link (http://hybridlogic.co.uk/experiments/plex/) does not show anything but “Loading …”.

Tried it as well on Windows Client with the preview link + my own export both show the same “Loading…”.

UPDATE: Moved the content to my nas on the web server part and it works there. I am still confused why e.g.: cant see anything on your preview link or directly from launching on Mac OS X

My old version one there won’t work, I’ve never got around to updating it fully. It may be the security issues just stopping it working locally, there was a post a while back explaining how it’s to stop websites just reading files on your computer etc without your permission. There is a v2 version available (shown here http://hybridlogic.co.uk/experiments/plex-v2/ available here https://github.com/Dachande663/plex-export/tree/v2) that should work a bit better but is not fully complete yet. Sorry for the frustration.

hello everybody,

I’m a big user of Plex and I’d like to know if ‘plex export’ will be suitable for windows ?

Someone can explain me the steps in order to generate the files for the website ?

If not, an alternative is available ?

Thanks for your work it’s awesome !

Anyone can tell me how to excute that cli.php file?

I have it placed on a php server. I am under windows 7 and I just don’t understand what “In your preferred shell/terminal” means. I tried the cmd in windows and it doesn’t know the “php” command. So where do you launch that “php cli.php -plex-url=http://other-machine.local:32400” command from?

Also I suppose you need one folder per server right. I mean I have a Plex Server for my movies, another for my TV shows so I need to set 2 lists right?

Have a read here, might help: http://php.net/manual/en/install.windows.commandline.php

The step I was missing was to install a local php server (like wamp).

Thank you though.

Hello,

I would like to know how easily updated my website with the new movies ?

thanks

I finally managed to put it my list on the dropbox. I did it beacuse it was behaving weirdly on my NAS so I tried dropbox to see if there was any difference and there isn't. So my problem is that the genre selection doesn't work as well as for the others but I guess the issue is that my library is too big:

[Dropbox](https://dl.dropbox.com/u/137902966/PlexSeries)
[NAS](http://nb809.no-ip.org/PlexSeries)

If I do a search in the library and select a genre it will display only the series from this genre but if I click on a genre without searching anything the list doesn't change at all.

I can't get it to work :(

You need to install cURL on the server, or more specifically the cURL PHP plugin

Yeah but couldn't see that in ipkg? How else can I install it?
