Plex Xbox One

I couldn’t find a Plex for Xbox One room so I figured I would ask here. I saw in a recent update that Plex no longer required a Plex Pass for Xbox 360. Is there a time frame for the Xbox One? Thanks.

The Xbox One forum is currently only available to Plex Pass subscribers as a subscription is required to access the app itself.

At this time Plex has not released any dates for the full release of the Xbox One client. My understanding is that there are still a few more features the developers would like to finish for the client before they are ready to actually release the app.

so you have to pay $50 per year if you want to use on XB1 rather than buy a $3-$5 app. Sorry but sounds fishy to me

Yes, if you want to be part of the Plex Pass program (which includes a lot more than just access to the Xbox App) you have to get a subscription. You can’t buy a $3-$5 dollar app because it is not a completed client ready for sale.

Once the client is in a completed state that the developers have decided is ready for a general release you will be able to purchase it or they may simply make it a free client. They actually haven’t said what the pricing model will be, and they most likely won’t until release.

I was part of Plex Pass but only use Plex on the XB1 which is the only reason why I signed up for Plex Pass as personally I have no need or use for all the other great features. Plex Pass is definitely worth the US$40 if you use those features and I was happy to help pay for development of Plex even though all I was using was XB1 app.

This was a year ago and this week I cancelled by 2nd year of Plex Pass but now can’t use Plex on XB1

So I am definitely venting my frustration at no longer having Plex even though XB1 app is fine as it is and has been out for a year but they restrict it to Plex Pass
