Plexamp 3 and Home Assistant?

A bit niche I’m sure, but all other clients discovered through the Plex Home Assistant integration work absolutely fine, however since installing Plexamp 3 the playback controls on HA don’t work. They worked absolutely fine with Plexamp 1, and continue to work fine with all other Plex clients on my network. HA is still able to pull correct info, artwork, and playback state, but seemingly unable to issue any commands.

Possibly related but the Windows taskbar thumbnail also no longer features playback controls as it used to. Has something changed in the way media control features are exposed?

Any ideas?

yup, noticed the same. Home Assistant rocks btw, just wish we could cast playback, would love to set up some automations for Plex Music.

probably related to plexamp currently doesn’t support flinging/casting/remote control

hopefully that functionality will be added over time.

Same!!! I was playing around trying to get the media_player.play_media service to work with Plex but had no luck.

Ah I didn’t realise it didn’t have remote control support yet- that’s almost certainly the reason! I’m sure it’ll be added down the line, as it’s a staple feature of all other Plex clients.
