Plexamp 4.4 on Raspbian only partially working

Hi I’m trying to get plexamp running on a Raspberry 4. Installed 4.4.0 on the Pi and running the latest 1.29.x on the server (synology nas). With node 12 the service is on 32500 and I can sign in to the server. However it’s only partially loading it seems. Album/Artist photos are just shades and when I actually go to play something I just get a spinning circle forever. Anybody seen this? Thanks

  1. Get v4.5.0, that will fix the missing images.
  2. Select a player from the cast menu in the upper right. Earlier versions defaulted to the browser, which doesn’t play.

Thanks 4.5.2 now and images fixed. The cast options were just the raspberrypi though. I have the audio just set to the output jack (the 2 hdmis are also options). Still just circling. I guess I’m misunderstanding something?

I do eventually want to get this PiFi Digi+ board working to send optical to a stereo receiver but wanted to make sure the core audio was working first.

What do you have selected under Settings → Playback → Audio Output → Audio Device? You’re connecting to the 3.5mm jack on the Pi, you should have the bcm2835 Headphones device selected:

Also ensure you’ve selected you headless Plexamp device as the player:

If it’s already selected, it may help to click Disconnect and then reselect it. I find that I sometimes need to do that after an upgrade.

yeah disconnecting and reconnecting worked - headjack works fine now
