Just a heads-up: when installing the 4.50.8 Flatpak on Bazzite, Flatpak reports that Plexamp is still using the EOL GNOME 48 runtime:
Info: runtime org.gnome.Platform branch 48 is end-of-life, with reason:
The GNOME 48 runtime is no longer supported as of March 24, 2026.
Please ask your application developer to migrate to a supported platform.
Info: applications using this runtime:
com.plexamp.Plexamp
4.50.8 installs and runs fine otherwise — just wanted to flag the outdated runtime.
Good catch, and thanks for the detail. That pin was set four days before 48 went end-of-life and nobody revisited it since, so it was drift rather than a decision. Here’s a build on the GNOME 50 runtime if you want to try it: https://plexamp.plex.tv/desktop/Plexamp-4.50.9-test.bazzite-x86_64.flatpak (a one-off for testing, so it won’t auto-update and nobody else gets offered it). Worth checking more than the warning going away: the newer runtime brings a newer WebKit along with it, so let me know whether playback and the visualizer still behave.
What an amazing contrast in response to this issue on Plexamp vs. essentially the same problem on the desktop Plex client Flatpak, where people have been reporting outdated runtimes for some time. Even now, with an active security issue and instructions to upgrade to a new version of that app immediately, when asked about the Flatpak the word has been “yeah, were gonna get that updated… someday.”
