Plexamp Album Art Constantly Changing on Android Auto

Hello,
I use a Sony XAV-AX100 Android Auto head unit in my car, and I was very grateful to find Android Auto support in Plexamp. Although, when I use the app on the head unit, the album art on a song that is playing will randomly flicker between different previously played album arts. Sometimes it will pull album art from things I have listened to outside of Plexamp, such as Podcast Addict. No matter the time in the song, it will randomly change cover art.

What could be causing this? Is it a bug in Plexamp or Android Auto? This doesn’t seem to happen on other apps like Podcast Addict or Shuttle, if the cover art is wrong on other apps I usually just open maps, and then open the app again on the head unit and the art will correct itself.

Same thing happens to me. It’s been happening for quite awhile, in a whole bunch of different apps. Interestingly enough, someone else pointed out that one of the only other apps it does not happen in is Spotify…perhaps they handle album art differently somehow?

it’s fairly bizarre, afaik it’s an android auto issue. not sure what spotify does differently
