I understand there is an issue with Android Auto itself where it will sometimes change the album art to an incorrect album. I’ve actually had Plex album art show up on my podcast app.
However, recently the behavior seems to have changed where Plexamp will show incorrect album art from the beginning, occasionally changing to different incorrect album art. The occasional change I put down to the AA bug, but why is it showing incorrect album art all the time now?
This has been an issue for me for the last year as well. It will constantly change album art from something I have listened to at an earlier point in time. Almost as if it caches the album art and flips back and forth between the “correct” art and something from earlier. I am using Android Auto via USB to my vehicle with Plexamp.
Yes, that has been an ongoing issue and what I mentioned as a known AA bug in my original post. But in that case the album art would start out correct and then would temporarily change to something else part way through the song before eventually returning to the correct album art.
This is different. Upon the song loading the album art is incorrect. Then occasionally it will flip to a different incorrect album art(the aforementioned AA bug) before returning to the original incorrect album art.
This is a systemic issue, not the one off changes that were previously happening due to the AA bug. I can’t recall the last time I saw correct album art being displayed.
I have brought this up in the past and have been told it’s an Android Auto issue. I don’t think anybody wants to take ownership of what is going on, or that’s what it seems. I use Android Auto for other music streaming services and this never happens.
Just want to be clear. You’re seeing album art that’s wrong from the start of the song all the way through or you’re seeing where the album art starts out correct but occasionally switches to incorrect album art?
