I love plexamp and I use it all the time on Windows. A lot of the music I listen to basically requires gapless playback, so plexamp is really my only option. The one feature I would really love would be integrating plexamp with the windows media popup, so that other programs (like Wallpaper engine) can access album art, song name, artist name, etc. This works when playing songs from the web app. Thanks!
I attached an example of a wallpaper engine wallpaper that uses album art. The album art is displayed (as in the image) when playing a song from the web app, but not when using plexamp.

I’ve wanted the Plex app to expand its API so I could design skins for what is now a discontinued third-party app called Bowtie. You’d be able to feed a players media info to the skinned player that had a handful of themes. There was development for a 2.0 release until the developer went completely M.I.A. and left it at a 1.5 release, no 2.0 was ever released.
Anyhow, if we could get a way to call back media info from PlexAmp and use it for other applications, that’d be great. PlexAmp doesn’t have to change its UI but it’d be nice to carry over the media info to other apps that could customize the experience a bit.
