Plexamp doesn't respond to media keys

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252 Player Version#: 3.2.1 Hi! I’m using Plexamp on Windows 10 Pro. My keyboard has media buttons that I like to use to pause/play music, and skip to the next song. All my other applications like Spotify and Firefox respond well to the buttons. However, plexamp seems to ignore them. Is there some setting for this? If not, how can I open a feature request? Thanks

Plexamp missing native windows media notification (top left screen)

Hello everyone, sorry if a topic about this has already been created I did not find it. It would appear plexamp is not using the SystemMediaTransportControls correctly(?)

If you really want to enjoy plex music on desktop just stay on the web ui it’s way better than plexamp, they should just remove their desktop build at this is no way near a desktop app in both backend & frontend.

But yea I hope they will try to do a real plexamp desktop software sometime…

there are many reasons to use Plexamp over the web desktop: loudness leveling, sweet fades, EQ, sonic features, and so on.

we would like to add media key controls but unfortunately not trivial with node/electron and windows APIs.

There is really no point of having additional audio features when you don’t have basics UI features.

The best way would be to develop a separate software for desktop and not try to reuse smartphone app and convert it to desktop.

The topic here is plexamp desktop missing media key control wich I find being a part of “basic ui feature”.

You talk about the many other reasons to use the desktop app but yea ok I am the one off topic.

I see your answers did not change with the years… Always a pleasure to see that you don’t care much about negative feedback over plexamp desktop.

I wonder how many people are actually really using plexamp on desktop right now when you can’t even press the pause button to pause the music. Or close the software with a close button.

Don’t get me wrong, Plexamp is a great app with great technology and I love it.
Plexamp desktop is a great app with great technology and a totally nonsense ui / ux.
