Plexamp for Apple Watch

Hi everyone,
With the new Apple Watch models being announced next Monday is there any progress on a PlexAmp version for watchOS? It would be incredible to be able to stream / download music to the watch and listen to it without an iPhone nearby.

The Apple Watch is my music player when I’m out on a hike or run. Now if we could have a simple app to play our Plex music with on the watch that’d be incredible.

Now with Apple Watch 3 and LTE(celular connection). We’ve seen Apple pushing the watch to become a stand alone device more and more. It’s time for the plex team to start looking forward and develop a plex client app for apple watch.

Here in the Netherlands 3 of the biggest providers now offer multisim. Being connected with lte on a watch is becoming very common. Streaming music from the watch to AirPods is convenient. So much so that we have a subscription to Apple Music for it. While our Plex has terabytes worth of music on our nas at home which we cannot use on our preferred Apple Watch.

Plexamp for Apple Watch with download feature also would be amazing as new watches have 64GB storage with technically no other use case

Interesting but this post is from 2017 would be nice to get a more recent update from the Plex team.

I’ll pay a monthly fee for being able to download automatically my own music from plex to my Watch!
Should be very nice for outdoor activities!

FWIW, I’ve heard that supporting the Apple Watch is VERY difficult. Many apps that initially came out with an Apple Watch version have abandoned it, and many that are still available don’t actually do anything very useful. I wouldn’t be surprised if Plex thinks it’s not worth dedicating resources to create an Apple Watch app.
