I have two music libraries on my Plex server: one for standard “Music” and the other for “Music - Christmas.”
On Plexamp for Android and Plexamp for Windows if I have the Source set to the standard “Music” library, both players show “Album Collections” in the menu.
However, when I switch to “Music - Christmas”
The “Album Collections” is missing from the menu, but I have two Collections created in the “Music - Christmas” library.
There was a bug in 4.9.0 (fixed in 4.9.1) where the library screen wasn’t being refreshed correctly when switching between libraries on the same server. What you’re describing sound a little like that bug?
@elan , you told us to use a separate library for Christmas music last year (Plexamp Problem - Sonic and Christmas). I did so, but now I’m finding it almost worthless because of the bug in this thread. I cannot use my playlists or collections for my Christmas music library.
It’s a bit frustrating not to hear back from someone at Plex for two weeks about this problem that involves this Christmas season, which is moving on quickly.
I understand it’s frustrating, and I’m sorry. We have a lot of people out & traveling for the holidays, as I’m sure you understand.
I created an album collection in a secondary library, and when I switch to the library, I see it in Plexamp. Switching back to my main library I see the other collections. So everything seems to work as expected.
What sort of collection specifically aren’t you seeing show up?
So, I have “0” playlists and “2” Collections in my Christmas library. But, Plexamp is showing “5” playlists and “0” Collections for my Christmas library.
This is the version I’m running on Windows and Android:
Sorry, I missed that specific question. I have two Collections in my Christmas library. They are both standard collections (not smart). They are “track” collections I believe:
Thank you! Glad to know it is coming. I’ll miss it this season but look forward to it for the next year.
Though the Christmas season does actually last well past Christmas depending on the calendar you use , but I understand how most companies properly slow down for the holidays and new year. Facto: The twelve days of Christmas begin on December 26 and end on January 6, the traditional date of Epiphany. (Other traditions mark the twelve days beginning Christmas Day and ending January 5, the day before Epiphany.)
Oh, interesting! That wasn’t clear at all in the interface, since I believe all the other groupings on that page are based on the library, but I was beginning to wonder if playlists were cross-library.
