I love the player for the plex music interface. I feel the first pass was a bit short of the mark. At the very least it should have had the functions of the interface player. Like Queue manipulation. I have to create a play list on my interface to use on the plexamp. I like the eye candy. I like the library interface. I understand the minimalist point of view, interestingly enough is that not a Linux boast not Mac and Windows.
I had a little issue getting it running on windows 10 with out being an admin. Once it was running, I found all the function to be simple and straightforward. The one biggest Issue I have with the application is that my server can’t see it. When I am playing music on the interface I get no Now playing information. PlexPy can see it interestingly enough but the place Web interface from the server didn’t show it. Now that I am attempting to get a screen shot of the same thing it is not happening. When i say it is not happening. I mean it is not even playing anything anymore. It is being launch the same as it was the last time that I got it to work as an Admin. ( a no no for my Work computer.) and now it will browse the library in the discovery mode when I select a song it does nothing. I Truly would love to see this work. I love the idea of this project. it is perfect for min and control so it is easier to stop and start when some one walks up to my desk.
A fellow Plexer sent me the information this and i have had all of a hour and a half with the application. I am not sure if this is something you would like to hear but I think you should publish your development path with this application. Let people know where you want to take it. There are so many project that get started and take off but no one know what direction it is taking. You take input from forms and set priority based on your additional ideas but some times especially those of that want to continue to support an Idea. It is easier to support and get behind if there is something to look forward too. You have already laid down the gauntlet and challenged your selves to be as good as or better than Winamp. Keep the goals high and keep up the good work. Who am I, I have no idea if you even haven’t published you goals. If you have great, if you haven’t and it is for fear of missing the mark, then don’t miss. If your in fear of some one copying you. Too late. your presuming to copy some one else and you miss just a little. If your following the agile project management style and this was the result of a sprint release just remember for commercial release you don’t have to start with that method when you get a line in the sand then release. Then swap to agile, remember customers are fickle. In the application world your only as good as your last success and just as bad as every failure.
I really love this. I don’t want to see it fail or fall off because of lack of adoption or lack of richness.
