Plexamp | MacOS unable to show plexamp window after closing

For MacOS use, it makes sense to toggle “Use System Window Controls”. Without it, there is no way to minimise / close the Plexamp window.

When red button is clicked - close window, Plexamp window closes and music stops.
There is no way to bring it back. Clicking on Plexamp in does nothing. It’s required to right click icon in dock → quit and then start again.

For MacOS, closing window should just hide it. Clicking on icon in dock should bring it back.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Settings → Experience → Desktop Integration → Use System Window Controls → True
  2. Restart Plexamp
  3. Start playing music
  4. Click red button to close window
Results: Music stops, app is still running, no way to bring window forwards.

Expected Result: Music keeps playing, window is closed, clicking on Plexamp in dock should bring back the window.

You can use cmd-m / cmd-h.

@elan its definitely possible to cmd + h but i found the current behaviour unexpected and buggy. Right now when you click on the red button after enabling desktop controls on a mac, it doesnt either quit or hide the application. Do you think its possible to fix that and start reflecting a click on the red button as a hide action similar to what Apple Music does? Thank you

This is orthogonal to the OP, but FWIW, on my mac, I use a little utility called rectangle pro which lets you “stash” a window offscreen, then when you hover the mouse at the edge where that window is “stashed” it slides out. …And when you mouse off the window, it slides back offscreen. I use this with plexamp on my mac for a very clean and intuitive way to show / hide the plexamp window.

@pjv thanks for the suggestion. I was also looking into similar apps to do that or either to override the close click events and do something else (Hide the window instead) but seems like a worst experience to the user then just have the expected behaviour on a MacOS application. I would appreciate a lot if we can prioritise fixing this @elan
