PlexAmp is great! However, it really needs a tiny bit of tweaking for artist radio, artist mix builder, etc etc.
- Short tracks should be filtered. skits, interludes, etc. They ruin the flow completely. So hopefully they can be detected automatically or a custom minimum track length feature could be added to settings.
- Category filters. Some artists put out things like Christmas albums, but I don’t want those tracks slipped into a normal listening session
Possibly a Plex metadata issue, unclear as I had “Prefer Local Metadata” checked and now need to do more experimentation without that after a full metadata refresh:
If I do an artist radio or an artist builder mix, it seems to only recognize the EXACT artist. It doesn’t pick up tracks where the artist was featured or a different collaboration.
Eminem is an easy way to reproduce this. If I want an artist mix or Eminem artist radio I expect it to pick up tracks by other artists where he is featured (e.g., Homicide feat Eminem by Logic) or other groups Eminem has been a member of. Example here would be D12 or Bad Meets Evil
Plex just seems unable to figure out that this same artist is connected to these other groups or tracks. If this is an issue with my errant setting to Prefer Local Metadata I apologize for the noise here.
