So I’ve noticed some issues with the plex amp app.
I listen to a lot of music and audiobooks, I have only really notice this problem with audiobooks, I don’t think with music, but wouldn’t really bother me as much so prehaps I just never notice it
So let me run you what happened today, I was listening to a audio book on my phone while on my motorcycle via helmet hands free (I know very mainly) then I got home and got in the car to go shopping with the family, I loaded up the plexamp app on my car android based head unit and went to my audio book, went to play it and it seemingly hadn’t checked the server for the latest resume data…? Only the last thing it was playing and place?
Now if I go to any other album and play it for at least 15 seconds and then back the the original audio book I wanted to listen too then it works correctly.
how ever if I listen to the original audio book at the incorrect location (hasn’t checked resume data) for 15 seconds it updates that play location from the server and looses my place.
This has started to become extremely inconvenient and frustrating
I think a rework/rethink of how plexamp and plex talk when it comes to resume data
Prehaps check and then ask me if I want to stay where I am or go to latest location
yeah if you left the app playing and then played it more in another app and came back, the progress isn’t updated. the app isn’t really designed for audiobooks at the moment…
Is there a easier work around than going in to another audio book or song on first device then doing same on second then back to the original wanted audio book I want on the second?
At the moment the fool proof way I’m solving it for the time being, but it’s quite long winding and painful
Having a stop botton when I have a audio book or a mp3/media file that’s clearly huge would be beneficial until the day where it starts being requested more and requires a rework
A long press on the Pause button performs a Stop action in Plexamp.
Try if this causes the playback position to get saved on the server. (provided the first device has a working internet connection at this very moment)
I’m still learning hidden short cuts! You have made my day!
I can comfim that works flawlessly, as long as I remember to stop it on the first device before trying to open it on the second ect and remember to always “stop” it on any device when I’m done so I don’t open it and “overwrite” the resume data with old resume data by mastake
I’m happy to say this is much better than my previous work around. I Even tried between my wife’s phone the car and mine just to really push it for a failure but none as long as I remember the steps correctly.
So yeah Works as I expect , thank you so much guys.
Oh my goddddd! Elan, you’ve blown my mind my friend! It’s now in pieces…
there needs be a atlas sized manual to read when you download plex amp! Lol all jokes aside, there really should be a tutorial or a legend somewhere in the app!
