Plexamp bug, played tracks does not reset playback to the beginning

Hi,

I don’t know if this bug or limitation is recent or has some time, but the fact is that I just noticed this since recently I added several music albums to my plex media server.

The problem is that plexamp is not resetting to the beginning the playback position of played tracks.

I do have enabled on my plex media server for my music library the “store track progress” and this is really useful, specials for some DJ sets that are a single track of 60+ minutes.

But when I play albums with various tracks, and after some time I wanted to play them again, plexamp is NOT starting the tracks form te beginning, but from the last 5 seconds or so, even that such tracks were fully played and plexamp automatically played the next track on the album.

This is very annoying since for every album I want to replay, I need to play the track and immediately have ti manually move the playback position to the beginning.

To my understanding the way ti should work is like any other music streaming service:
As soon as attack is fully played, the playback position must be reset to the beginning.

Hope this can be fixed.

Ay least this is what happens with plexamp 3.7.1 on iOS 15 @ iPhone 12 pro

Turn off Store Track Progress; It will not do what you think it will for music.

Thanks for the reply, so disabling this setting will still let me resume the playback of my songs and DJ sets? because that functionality is a must, at least for the DJ sets that last 60+ minutes

Plexamp always resumes where it left off, if that’s what you mean (across app restarts, upgrades, etc.)

If you come back 2 weeks later after listening to other music, and expect to resume where it was, then no, it will not do that. I recommend you put DJ sets into a different library with the setting enabled if that’s your goal.

Thanks for the clarification and additional info, I’ve already performed that change in my music library advanced settings and seems to be working

Will continue testing and in case I need extended resume playback for my DJ sets, Then I will proceed with creating a new music library solely for DJ sets and leave the “Store track progress” enable for that library
