Plexamp podcast playing time does not line up

I listen to podcasts a lot. On my phone, I listen to them using Podcast Addict. I would LOVE to use either the Plex Media Player or Plexamp to listen to podcasts and to be the main podcast player on my phone, desktop, laptop, everywhere, but neither of these is decent media players lacking critical bits of functionality that keep them from becoming the main podcast player for me. If you look I’ve posted several times about critical things that IMHO could be easily implemented making the podcast experience for these players a lot better but my pleas keep falling on deaf ears. I assume Plex isn’t that interested in this.

However, to report a bug anyway…

Since I’m now working from home, it’s convenient sometimes to catch up on my podcasts using Plexamp on my desktop. Sometimes I need to go out and so I wish to continue a podcast on my phone. So far this is a manual process of marking podcasts as played either on Plex or Podcast Addict as well as looking where I left off on one and getting back in sync on the other.

What I’ve noticed however is that the time is not the same for the two clients. So, for example, I just came in from outside and I was listening to podcast A at 1.5x speed, and Podcast Addict tell me I’m at 42min and 31secs into the podcast. I go to Plexamp on my desktop and move the scrubber to 42:31 and I’m not at all close to the right position. On the Plexamp on my desktop, I need to go all the way to 1 hr and 7 minutes! Both Podcast Addict on my phone and Plexamp on my desktop are set to playback at 1.5x. Is Plexamp not taking into account that the playback speed is at 1.5x?

I’m running on Ubuntu 21.10 with Plexamp 3.9.1
