I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found mention of an issue that has regularly plagued me using Plex for podcasts. Routinely, I run into playback time mismatch issues. These occur in a couple of ways, and I do regularly listen to podcasts at 1.3x speed:
- If I do not finish a podcast in one session, when I return, the playback location does not match where I was in the podcast. It always plays back at an ‘earlier’ time in the podcast. The timestamp may or may not match where it is playing.
- Plex often forgets entirely and starts back at the beginning of the podcast.
- If I jump forward (30s) or back (10s) using the buttons, the podcast will more often than not fail to jump ahead or back that amount. For example, I will hit “jump forward” 4x to skip the first 2 minutes of the ‘intro’. Yet Plex then starts playing perhaps around the 0:27 (or 0:36, or 0:51, who knows where it actually is, but it’s not at 2:00) mark, even though the time shows 2:00. This bug makes the first two much worse because it becomes very hit-or-miss to get back to where I was listening to. This happens upon initial playback as well (e.g. just trying to skip a boring part during my first playthrough of the podcast).
- At the end of the podcast, the playback time is much longer than the actual podcast play time and the remaining playback time is well into the negative (see attached screenshot from a podcast played earlier today).
For #3, I can sometimes change back to 1.0x playback speed and then the jump forward 30s works as expected. Not always though.
Anything I can provide to help get these bugs fixed?
