PlexAmp Random Album Radio Suggestions

Would it make sense to set the Random Album Radio playlist generator to ignore albums with fewer than a minimum number of tracks (to avoid singles) and/or to avoid “[Unknown Album]” (to avoid ungrouped tracks)?

I think we’re assuming that Every Album Is Sacred. Once we have more metadata we could potentially avoid EPs, but I can see scenarios where people would want these included too.

I definitely would not want this feature as a default. I enjoy having a variety of formats in my Random Album radio.

(FWIW, track # isn’t a good factor: there are albums, including famous ones, with only one track.)

Yeah - I’d definitely want custom options - this is more to get the discussion started. (In my book everything should be customisable!)

Every album is sacred is fine if everything under consideration is an album. I think you’re right - this comes down to metadata and the way Plex organises music. Right now everying is considered an album, be it actually one, or a single with six remixes of the same track, or a dumping folder under an artist where random mp3 tracks have been thrown together (“[Unknown Album]” is the bane of my life! )

Some method of distinguishing actual albums, singles, EPs and random stuff would definitely make things easier in the long run.

(I totally accept I’m possible an edge-case user - I have almost 9,000 “albums” (according to Plex’s definition). Others with smaller collections may feel differently.)
