Plexamp slow to start playback

Server Version#: 1.40.4.8679
Player Version#: 4.11.1

Hey, just looking for some places to look in settings, I have not changed any defaults as far as I’m aware. When I start playback on Plexamp it takes anywhere from 10-30 seconds to start playing for the first track of the day, after which it starts playback almost immediately for new playlists/albums. When I was running Plex directly on a Synology NAS using the ARM version playback was immediate, now I’m running Plex on an Ubuntu machine with the files still on the same NAS. Nothing has changed with my network or network config, Plex apps on other devices don’t have the delay as far as I’m aware. If it’s just buffering the playlist and taking longer because the files and the server aren’t residing on the same machine that makes sense, tho is there a setting I can use to reduce the pre-buffer?

Can elaborate or explain better if anyone has specific questions, I know I’m not great at explaining things.

Thanks, y’all.

That’s most likely the price of allowing your hard drives to spin down when they’re idle.
The Plex server has its data on a separate storage, so the waiting time only occurs when trying to access an actual media file on the NAS.

Whereas before the Plex data folder was on the same drive(s) as the actual media, which could mean that they were “awakened” much earlier or were actually never put to sleep because Plex server has always something to write into it’s logs.
