Plexamp v1.0.2 Audio Breaks Up Badly (macOS 10.13.2)

I’ve been really hoping this Plexamp would work out as I like its simplicity. However, this newest release has become pretty much unusable for me. After playing for only 10-20 seconds, the music starts breaking up horribly. I have not tried it on my local network, yet, but I have 5+ Mbps upload from the server (no other traffic at the time), and 200Mbps download from the location I’m running Plexamp. 5 Mbps should be more than enough for MP3s, yet, it only takes seconds before it runs out of buffer and cannot keep up (if that’s what’s actually happening).

Note, I can use the Plex Web client to listen to the music from the same Plex server, all day long without interruption.

It sounds like it’s having trouble keeping up, which is weird because your 5Mbps should be enough. There hasn’t been any changes in this release around bufffering, to be clear.

Turns out I was trying to play FLAC files (although, I would think 5 Mbps could handle the rate of FLAC (~3000kbps / ~3Mbps)). I had no idea, because the app shows no codec or bitrate information on the current song–would be nice

We’ll definitely be adding that in the future
