Plexamp wont stay installed

Server Version#: linux
Player Version#: plexamp 3.4.4

Windows 10 64bit version 1903

Plexamp uninstalled itself (maybe trying to update). I downloaded it and it ran fine. After a restart, Plexamp is gone again. This is happening ever time I reboot the computer.

Is your user account member of an Active Directory?
Which anti-virus software is in use?
Any other 3rd-party “security” apps in use?

This is a work computer and there are some security programs. I’m not sure about Active Directory, but we do use Office 365.

We use Carbon Black antivirus.

This “won’t stay installed” is new behavior that started about a week ago.

I’d ask the responsible network administrator about it.
There is nothing Plex can do here.

Do you know of a way to prevent the automatic updates?

I just installed it again and then uninstalled it through windows control panel.

Edit: this time when I reinstalled it, I had to log back in.

No, this is not possible.

This is expected, when not only the app, but also its data folder is purged.
Again, this is out of Plex’s hands.
If there are policies and software in place which remove user-installed software from your employers’ machines, then you can’t expect Plex to actively work around it.

Thanks for trying to help. My work does not have a policy/software to block installation of programs like this.

Since I installed Plexamp, then manually uninstalled it (using Windows control panel), then re-installed again it seems to be working now (I have rebooted). Maybe there was something corrupted that got removed when I uninstalled it rather than the “automagic update” that plexamp does without asking.

I’ll close this now.
