Im new to plex and plex connect.
Just installed it on my old Atom mini server and it works with my ATV3.
But im having some trouble either understanding or using it correctly.
I was under the impression that transcoding only would ocour in case the format is not support by (in my case) the apple tv. So im doing some tests and have ripped a dvd into mp4, H264 using the settings from apple (http://support.apple.com/kb/sp648).
But im running into a problem i cant really explain.
When i run this through PlexConnect the transcoder start on my Plex server. This is when Transcoding is set to Auto on PlexConnect if I change to DirectPlay I get an error. Why, what am i missing? I would not expect the transcoding to start in this case.
Hope someone can enlighten me :).
