PlexConnect not working since last Plex update

I don't know what updated a couple days ago, but since my localhost:32400/web had a makeover, PlexConnect is not discovering my PMS (same network, diff machine) and also it cannot sign into MyPlex.

PlexConnect does show when I open Trailers, but I cannot sign into MyPlex and it does not discover my PMS machine either, using both wifi and ethernet.

 

Using ATV2 on v6.1

PMS is on Ubuntu 12.04 on i7 3.2ghz 8gb RAM.

All on Cat6 cable and gigabit switches.

GDM = auto discovery of Plex devices (Plex Inc's version of bonjour if you like).

If it fails it will fall back to the hard coded IP but most users should not need to do this unless they have disabled GDM on their PMS or they are blocking it on their router/firewall

it's on in PMS, even tried switching off/on again with no luck

networking-wise how can GDM be (un)blocked?

GDM uses port 32414 by default. Maybe others.

but how could a port be blocked when both plex and plexconnect are on the same machine?

btw i have the same issue and i think this may be the cause for other problems....

even though using plex login brings up the server
