I meant it not being hosted on any webserver but directly injected, although i am not sure that is possible.
Opening up a webserver to the world and his dog isn't really a good idea.
Walhman, in plain english, what do you think has changed in the PlexConnect code that means you cannot host the bagplist on the PlexConnect server now? You aid oyu used the PlexConnect webserver from older code, which commit is it?
This is what we have been trying to do alla day without any luck so far...
You are not the only one, although tbh the only real advantage is that it would allow a PlexConnect app wihtout having the ugly add site button on screen.
Maybe hosting on the PlexConnect webserver is the cleanest way.
U Dont even need the addsite button am using the standalone app without having the addsite… I would love to use the plexconnect webserver to host the baglist if i only knew how to do it… Can u enlighten me?
Me and baa are talking about it he knows the issue. Im not sure of the commit but, its here also as a downloadable zip also http://atv.plexconnect changed in all the js files to something unusable by addsite it was broken here:
With this - I guess - we have a somewhat "native" Plex client on your jailbroken aTV. Carry along, no need for an extra host.
Edit:
Re-added the example lines. Based on the 'file colon slash slash', forum software ate them for breakfast. Now adding them as "code" - replacing ':' by 'colon'.
Baa this is exacly what we have been trying to do but yet no luck… The closest we have been to get it working is to host the logo.png file but for some reason it dont wanna read the baglist
The rule of thumb that I can tell from using addsite thus far is, if you cannot visit the bag.plist from a webrowser such as 192.169.1.101:1224/bag.plist the atv cannot see it either. This really isnt a big deal because at this time you need to host not run plexconnct from a webserver anyways to use plexconnect via its own app added by addsite. If the was a way to host the bag.plist and the modified files on the atv this would not be an issue as an actual webserver. If you cannot see these via a webserver neither can the atv:
yeah but it looks like baa managed to add the bag.plist directly into the tv and point the extrainternetcathegories to it.. and then we dont need the addsite..
thats exactly what i am trying to figure out :D .. i guess hes sleeping now and can tell us tomorrow.. but if u read a couple of posts up u can se that they found a way
I wonder if he did it without the ip whatsoever putting it in the root. I will test and see, I tried with http://127.0.0.1/bag.plist maybe he is just using bag.plist in the extrainternetcatagories.
