Hey there. I need some help and starting to get really frustrated. I have read and read and tried and tried to get the PlexConnect to work for my ATV3. My PlexConnect worked a few months ago and as everyone knows, the update kicked us off. Now I know that everyone is having to make certs and install to ATV3.
When I install OpenSSL, I get an error that says 2008 C++ Redistributable can not be found. But the thing is, I have installed it several times. So what am I doing wrong here? Or can someone give me better how too's?
I open a COMMAND PROMPT and run the code to create cert. Once that is complete, I receive an error about install the cert.
When I open the iphone config software, I can not get the profile to install into the Apple Tv.......
I truly truly need someone to help me get this going.
FYI saying you get an error without actually quoting the error verbatim is very unhelpful for any troubleshooting, error messages are often there to let you know exactly what the issue is.

Well I am not home to tell you exactly what the error is. But I discribed it pretty close.
Eum, guys, it looks like he has another problem. Not with transferring the cert, but actually creating the cert. He gets an error message installing openSSL and another error message creating the cert..
cgaston, one thing at the time. I think you should really get your OpenSSL/c++ install working first. Is there another computer you can try to install it on? Or maybe create a clean virtual machine in vmware or something? Cause it looks like something's messed up, you should get those kind of errors...

Ok...... Here is an update. I was able to get redistributable to install and OpenSSL worked without and error. As I created the certs, I got an error for about not being able to save to registry. Screen shot attached....... I added my the cert to my trusted certs and then just a regular install. Now I was able to build a profile and install it into ATV3.... But now have an issue..... I now have everything installed and complete but continue to get the trailers is unavailable...... Screen shot attached. What am I doing wrong? What are your suggestions.........
Pics seem to indicate that the cert is on aTV, right?
If the cert is fine: Is your host accessible via port 443/port 80? Firewall issue? You never know with Windows...
That may be the problem. Now on the plex server screen (CMD WINDOW).... Is that where I will see the port#? Is it after my DNS IP?
Maybe I am also doing this step incorrect..."cert.create.txt to that directory and rename it to cert.create.bat" ...... What is the best way to do this? Steps/method?
