Plexconnect running on any jailbroken iOS device

The "cd .." (or the "cd /" command wahlman gave) should both work on either Terminal on your Mac or on your iOS device. (Make sure that you include a space in-between the "cd" and the ".." though!)

i forgot the space :(

but now i get this message?

Ives-iPadMini:~ root# cd /

Ives-iPadMini:/ root# cd /Applications

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications root# cd /Plexconnect

-sh: cd: /Plexconnect: No such file or directory

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications root# cd Plexconnect

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect root# ./install.bash

-sh: ./install.bash: No such file or directory

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect root# cd support

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect/support root# cd /IOS_jailbreak

-sh: cd: /IOS_jailbreak: No such file or directory

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect/support root# dir

IOS_jailbreak  OSX  aTV_jailbreak

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect/support root# cd IOS_jailbreak

</Plexconnect/support/IOS_jailbreak root# ./install.bash

-sh: ./install.bash: Permission denied

If you guys get this running please post ios version and device & revision e.g. Ipad 2 rev a ios 6.1.3 with a screen shot if you find the time ;)

i will do it , if i get it to work ;)

cd /PlexConnect

I assume you copied the unzipped renamed  plexconnect folder over via cyberduck or filezilla to your iOS device.

It should be named PlexConnect <-----Notice the Uppercase P & C

cd /

cd /Applications

You need to copy the PlexConnect foler over manually at this time using filezilla or cyberduck on a mac to your ios device.

Or, if you want to stay and do all the work in terminal, you can use the "scp" command using the following format:

scp /Users/username/filelocationhere/PlexConnect-master root@youripadresshere:/Applications

cd /PlexConnect

I assume you copied the unzipped renamed  plexconnect folder over via cyberduck or filezilla to your iOS device.

yes i did everything as it is in your tutorial. But after getting into the IOS_jailbreak folder to install the install.bash file i get this error:

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect/support root# dir

IOS_jailbreak  OSX  aTV_jailbreak

Ives-iPadMini:/Applications/Plexconnect/support root# cd IOS_jailbreak

</Plexconnect/support/IOS_jailbreak root# ./install.bash

-sh: ./install.bash: Permission denied

chmod +x install.bash

or

chmod +x /Applications/PlexConnect/support/IOS_jailbreak/install.bash

then

./install.bash

You also need to rename your Plexconnect folder to PlexConnect <-----Notice the Uppercase P & C otherwise the script will not work.

Im running jailbroken iOS 7.0.4 on an iPad 4th gen here-- I need to clarify something here though. I have successfully installed Cydelete (which is supposedly not compatible with iOS 7 from the Big Boss repo. For anyone wondering, just find it on another repo and install it. Cydelete itself won't work, but you don't need it to, you just need the tools that come with it.) I've got python installed and updated, and I've successfully installed the PlexConnect folder into my /Applications folder. From here I've been able to install the PlexConnect launch Daemon using the "chmod +x /Applications/PlexConnect/support/IOS_jailbreak/install.bash" and the "./install.bash" commands.

Here's my question- How do I actually start PlexConnect after I've done all this? I've got the Daemon installed, but I don't know how to run anything now! :)
I tried navigating back to the /Applications/PlexConnect/support/IOS_jailbreak/ directory and running the ./PlexConnect.bash command, but nothing happens?

what is your iOS device ip address? Once you have it type it into safari e.g.

http://192.168.1.101

Ahh Okay... I think that makes sense... Going to have to try again later now. I'll update!

ok type it in:

http://192.168.200.23

it should say error not serving client 192.x.x.x if plexconnect is working. I could not get it to work on ios7 consistently because mobile substrate is still a work in progress on evasi0n's end.

chmod +x install.bash

or

chmod +x /Applications/PlexConnect/support/IOS_jailbreak/install.bash

then

./install.bash

Ok it worked, i also changed the name of the Folder.

- is it stored in a different place?

-> make sure to edit Settings.cfg and restart PlexConnect

- did you already create one?

same for me, how do i start it?

do i forgot something to do?

Im running jailbroken iOS 7.0.4 on an iPad mini 2

I installed everything from your cyfdia.myrepospace.com source

thx in advance :)

if you run:

./install.bash

It will load plexconnect for you at boot. I had issues with iOS 7 using this method since evasi0n needs to be fixed up for mobile substrate.

If plexconnect is running it will look like this when you type in your iOS device ip into safari.

dent work for me :(

Are you on iOS 7....yes. Will mobile substrate be fixed on iOS7? Yes, when evasion fixes it. Will this fix plexconnect on iOS 7? More then likely.

ok. sorry about

No need to be sorry, downgrade to ios 6 if you have a saved .shsh if on iphone 3GS or 4 or give it time and mobilesubstrate will hopefully fix it on iOS 7

ok thanks and merry christmas ;)

You too, I'm sure it will be here soon enough.

Tanks;) i hope so;)

Just keep updating cydia from time to time I'm sure they will push out a fix for mobilesubstate on iOS 7.
