PlexConnect separate IP?

Is there anything wrong with running PlexConnect on a separate IP address from the Plex server itself? Just wondering because I want to fire up Apache on my Linux box where Plex is already running.

Rather than mess around with forwarding through Apache I just figured I'd fire up an alias interface (eth0:1) with a different IP, configure PlexConnect to use the alias IP in the Settings.cfg, point ip_pms correctly just to be safe, and leave it all at that. Won't every worry about messing up virtual host config files. Seems to be working ok, I'm just trying to shake the "this is way too easy" feeling I have.

I can't think of any reason not to do this, was wondering if someone with more experience with PlexConnect might? Kind of surprised I haven't seen anyone mention this solution elsewhere.

Thanks!
