Server Version#: 4.147.1 Lifetime Plex Pass
Plex for LG Client Ver 5.94.1 Platform Ver 10.3.0
QNAP TS-464 15 TB RAID 5 Server
Visitors are coming and I would like to create a “PlexGuest” user with Read Only access. “PlexGuest” is already created in my NAS.
Plex Media Player in installed on an LG and Roku TVs in the guest rooms.
Is what I suggest possible? I haven’t tried creating a new E-mail address, signing up for Plex and then granting them access. I was hoping to not jump through those hoops!
Yes, everything is backed up, but determining what may be missing would be tough. Small children! They can be resourcefully destructive with a remote control!
Thanks for your help.

I think what you want is a managed user. Check out this support article

Users on your NAS have no bearing for your Plex server regarding accessing media from a Plex player. Access from a Plex player requires some kind of Plex account (either a proper Plex account or for Plex Pass admins, a managed user in a Plex Home that they create on their Plex Server).
Follow this guide on setting up a Plex Home for your server and then look at possibly just enabling the guest account and using that for what you need.

Any managed user you might make, just make sure they do not have the permission to delete stuff if you have that feature enabled on your Plex account, otherwise, they should not be able to do anything to your Plex server.
