I am using the latest stable plexmediaserver on Debian 12 inside LXC, every day it becomes unresponsive 1-2 times and requires a restart, started happening a few days ago after a decade of working fine.
Logfile says nothing related. Am i the only one? Anyone any idea how to debug?
blobs.db 2.1G, library.db 200M
Nope. Goes unresponsive every few hours now.
As a test:
- Stop PMS
- In terminal, go to the Databases directory
- Rename com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db → Blobs.db.save
- Start PMS
- Retest
You will notice some things missing. Refreshing analysis will regenerate the missing data (if you need it to test with)
A 2.1 GB blobs is signs of DB bloat (PMS 1.41.7 ??) and/or corruption.
The disparity should not be 10x different unless you have only music on your server.
Interesting thanks you, i will try that this weekend. I updated to the latest released pms yesterday an so far no going unresponsive anymore. We will see this evening.
I do have lots of audiobooks (a few TB), could the blaot come from there?
Also my library is somewhat big in general, how much regeneration will have to be done when removing the blobs.db?
New version did not fix it, I deleted the *blob* now and enabled debug logging, will report back.
Seems you were right, removing the blobs.db seems to have fixed it. No going unresponsive in over a day.
Thank you @ChuckPa
It’ is starting to happen again. Blobs is around 591MB big again.
