I currently have a lifetime Plex Pass subscription. My current Plex Server is running on Windows Server 2012 and my clients are cell phones which log in and then cast content to Chromecast devices and all is good in the world.
In time I’m going to stand up a new NAS, migrate my movie collection to it, and retire the old system. The NAS will have a different network name.
Question 1 : If I stand up the NAS and log into it with the credentials associated with my Plex Pass account, will the clients just see a second server?
Question 2 : Is there anything special I need to know about having 2 Plex Servers using one Plex Pass?
Plex Pass is linked with your account any any server you sign into it will get those Plex Pass benefits.
Plex Media Server is free. You can have multiple whether you have a Plex Pass or not.
the only real thing to know when running multiple Plex Media Server is then when setting up remote access they need different external/public ports when setting up port forwardingn rules for them, but this is not related to Plex Pass as remote access does not require a Plex Pass.
in apps you will see the servers listed under MORE like image below. You can mix and match which libraries from those servers is on the home screen. Like in second image i have the Courses library pinned form my QNAP NAS. if libraries from more that one server are pinned it will say which server the library is from on home screen.
