I have been getting alerts from the anti-malware Windows app Malwarebaytes that it is blocking PlexScriptHost.exe from contacting ia902800.us.archive.org. Why is Plex attempting to reach the website archive.org? Is is it searching for media matches or something? This happens multiple times a day.

musicbrainz.org is pointing to archive.org for cover art, and so is Plex.
Ah, thank you for the information. Now my question (not for this forum, of course) is why Malwarebytes is identifying this as a Trojan and / or Phishing attempt. Seems like they are being overly cautious.
They are. There is nothing inherently malicious about archive.org as such.
