I think you played Devil’s Advocate for the wrong side. For those who were interested to have subtitles do have Sub-Zero. However, when a Plex employee himself/herself (also one of the primary one’s handling plugins) does not know about the Plugin directory well enough - how can you blame the Users for not knowing well enough.
Think of it. Plex felt there was an urgent need to develop a subtitle feature but never were able to point Users to an already available excellent solution. You really think that its a shortcoming of the Plugins framework or Plex itself ? I’m sure the Subtitle feature was not built for the 2% SubZero Users ?
Good to know and I do see @dane22 point that a Plex port for Python 3.x might already be underway. But where there is a will there could have been Plugins 2.0 when Plex has time to do VR, Plexamp, etc. which in the long run will have much less of an impact.
That’s an Android bug, i’m on 7.6.2.7169 (3f3be9ee). It takes a while to load the Plugins. If you skip too soon to the Plugins section you wont see them. I also have to set my server manually sometimes for Plugins. It does not use the last one that is set.
