PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

thanks, tried two times to update with latest beta installed but just got error message when it tries to auto update.

Care to share a log, maybe?

sorry I’m in game CS2 atm just tried it between the pause.

Thanks for this latest gem. Just got to tell you that it didn’t prompt for the update when I changed the source to beta or exited PM4K and went back in. It took a CoreELEC reboot followed by opening PM4K and then the magic kicked in.

Interesting, that means we’re missing an inter-process call. @Gilgamesh are you on CoreELEC, too?

This was tested on Kodi native, 21, Windows, with no issues.

Huh. So when exiting settings after changing the update source and sitting on Home, you weren’t prompted for an update within 4 seconds?

Edit: Logs logs logs everyone, via DM, please

yes I’m on CoreELEC lastest CPM A5.

edit: the file was downloaded to temp dir and from there I could update as zip so on latest now.

That doesn’t help. Please send me a log when using beta4 to update to 4.1 when it fails.

Reuploaded 0.8.0-beta4 zip above with a couple of fixes.

Re-pushed 0.8.0-beta4.1b for the updater test.

Edit: Again.

That means the install or unpack process failed and we didn’t get to the cleanup step of the updater. Logs in DM please!

Edit: We might be missing permissions or something on CoreELEC. I’ll need to account for that. I don’t have CE, so I need your help

Reuploaded 0.8.0-beta4 zip again

Fixed a couple of things; still missing logs from a CE user where the update check/upgrade to 0.8.0-beta4.X has failed.

thank you so much panni for this amazing functionality, worked, I’m on CE lastest CPM A5 build.

in this functionality no need to download the beta manually?

Edit: I tried but failed to update, I’ll send you DM log.

Exactly, that’s the goal. Seems like I missed something, though. Awaiting logs

already sent DM.

Thank you. I never expected this:

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/storage/.kodi/addons/script.plexmod/resources/language/resource.language.xx_yy/strings.po'

This is a language file that isn’t there, but Kodi is set to that language.

Give me a second

At least this specific issue should be fixed (non existing language in translation index), and it should be possible to update to 0.8.0-beta4c from the newly uploaded beta4 (again) now.

Thank you so much for the log!

Thank you panni for that, I updated it to 0.8.0-beta4c but still did not get 0.8.0-beta4.1b. Does this mean normal?

again appreciate all your efforts.

Yes. We’re querying github and github likes to cache raw responses (which we rely on with the update checker. We query addon.xml and compare the local version), so I’m increasing the alphanumeric portion of beta4.1X to avoid the cache when you try my latest beta4 zip

beta4.1c is correct, if you’ve installed beta4 before (my last linked updated zip).

I redownloded 0.8.0-beta4c and get this:
script.plexmod.zip (3.0 MB)

You need to download this: https://forums.plex.tv/uploads/short-url/53XOKt7f1PyMdpVBytuJCFM8uea.zip (or, this, which is the same)

And set the Update source to Beta, then back out of settings and wait shortly on Home (4-6 seconds max).

If you’re not ending up with 0.8.0-beta4.1c, after confirming the update after starting PM4K, it’s a GitHub caching issue. It will go away in a couple of minutes and the updater will re-prompt you in 4 hours (or after you restart Kodi and GitHub decides to renew the cache).

Edit: Also, if you have installed beta4 before, make sure to restart CE after installing beta4 again. It might have failed before (the service endpoint can fail indefinitely, unless you restart your Kodi (CE) instance, if it crashed before. So the service endpoint might never start again)
