PMP + 5k iMac + 4k HDR = oversaturated/hyper colors

I’m playing back (direct play) 4k HDR content on a 5k iMac and for some scenes I’m seeing over-saturation or even possibly hue changes. Not all scenes look like this, or mabe it’s not that obvious in most scenes.

I’m not seeing washed-out colors, which seems to be the predominant complaint with HDR, so I guess HDR to SDR is being tone mapped.

I wonder if it has to do with the P3 colorspace for this display.

Same problem with me. Same equipment as you mention. Some 4k HDR content plays fine with PMP, some are very oversaturated. Same 4k HDR files play fine (not oversaturated) in VLC on the same 5k iMac. Any solution found yet?
