PMS 1.18.1.1973 Always crashing in Windows 10 Pro

Thank you very much for the reply. Fortunately I haven’t upgrade it. I’m so confused now. In this new beta update Plex has introduced new features and fixed some issues but they haven’t fixed the welknown windows issue :thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking::roll_eyes::frowning_face::frowning_face::frowning_face::frowning_face::frowning_face::frowning_face::frowning_face::frowning_face:

Same issue. Disable hw transcode and no crashing. Annoying.

I would not update to 1973, its crashing all the time here now, cant even start the server app

anyone having issues of crashing when updated to the latest Public version?

Did they fix the windows crashing issue on new PMS beta release 1.18.2.2041?

Thank you

no… still crashing

It looks like still they don’t have a solution for it. :unamused:

It’s being actively investigated:

Hi guy anybody tried Plex Media Server 1.18.2.2058 with Windows. Is this crashing issue still going on?

Still broken.

Plex never want to fix the issue. Really disappointed Plex. Now i’m stuck with 1.18.0.1944 :confounded::confounded::confounded::confounded::confounded:

Question for Plex engineering. Is this an issue with GPU/adapter, driver and using H/W acceleration on Windows, or is it a Plex Windows incompatibility? Starting to get confusing following all the issues.

I’ve found it’s the Intel driver.

There are 3 different issues that break HW acceleration in plex:

  1. Using Intel Quick Sync HW acceleration when running plex headless, or starting it via a service or RDP.
  2. Newer Intel Drivers break HW acceleration on the 530 series GPUs.
  3. A bug in plex introduced after 1.18.0.1944

It’s a very finicky beast, if I get it going again. That’s it no more updating anything.

I have found PMS 1.18.0.1944 doesn’t do HW transcoding whether we enabled or disabled hardware acceleration option. It always transcoding by CPU. Any of you guys have this problem?

Headless?

Just updated to the latest PMS 1.18.3 and still no luck. It stated to crash. I have to roll back to my old version.

It looks like latest PMS update they fix the windows crashing issue according to the release notes.
I need to test this out

For me it’s still crashing when hw transcoding enabled on Intel GPU :frowning:
