PMS on Raspberry B3+

Please help. I’m a 40 year+ computer user, but new to Raspberry Pi. Have been trying to install PMS on my new Pi3b+ without much luck. Followe several different methods from forums, makeuseof.com, etc. Is there a definitive method??? Almost afraid to try again.
Thanks in advance.

If you go to the Plex Download page, select Linux as the platform and download the Ubuntu (16.04+) / Debian (8+) - ARMv7 installer to the Pi, you can install it using

sudo dpkg -i /path/to/installer.deb

I would just restart the system after the install.

When the Pi comes back up, you should be able to reach the Plex Server through a web browser by typing in the IP address of the Pi and giving it the port of 32400, e.g.:

192.168.1.40:32400

You can then configure the server to your liking.

This is how I installed Plex on a Pi 3B+ and it has been working great.

Note - Using a Pi as a Plex server only really works if you are direct streaming video. It can NOT transcode videos with resolution greater than 480P, and in my experience even transcoding 480P will use all of the available CPU on the Pi and can buffer.

Thanks kwodz,

I was able to download and unpack. But cannot access the Plex Server. This is what I got:

Hey kwodz,

I just tried adding /web/ after …:32400
Seems OK now.
Thanks again for everything.
