PMS Sonic Analysis on Mac Mini M4

Server Version#: 1.41.3

I have a Mini M4- and Sonic Analysis started only after I enabled Rosetta and relaunched PMS. What are people’s experiences with Sonic Analysis on Intel silicon?

My first post with a few specific questions, TIA for your help-

  • Is Sonic Analysis supported natively on Mac Mini M4?
  • Does Rosetta still need to be enabled for PMS after Sonic Analysis is completed? (i.e. can PlexAmp Sonic Similarity features still be used?)
  • Is Sonic Analysis progress, e.g. ‘N of M albums analysed’, visible beyond the ‘Processing xyz albums’ note at top of Dashboard? Update: I now see a little ‘ticker’ in the thingy, so that’s progress! :star_struck:

Update / another question:. I now also see PMS Dashboard showing the ‘burn’ on the CPU, of which the uptick is 100% due to Sonic Analysis…
Strangely this claims ‘System’ is spiking up, but isn’t owning the uptick on CPU as being PMS (flat green line at the bottom). Why not?

Thanks for your help

Can I switch off Rosetta on my Mac PMS?

Sonic analysis has completed, so until server needs to run this again it shouldn’t need Rosetta- amIrite?

@support_please ?

Guess I’ll give it a try without Rosetta and report back…

So far the PMS services have been running as Intel, and as screenshot shows PMS has indeed been a hungry little piggy!
