Post Processing DVR script on Mac (Need SIMPLE help!)

After two days of google, and trial and error, I seem to be an idiot with this, as I cannot get it to work, at all. All I want to do is set up a post processing script so once the DVR records the .ts file, the script will use Handbrake OR ffmpeg to simply convert the .ts file into a .mp4 file. I’m using the standard HDHomerun and NOT the EXTEND version. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to:

  1. write a working script, as in, if I use Text Edit, do I simple save as an .rtf file and then change the extension to .sh, or is there a better way?

  2. get the script to actually run

  3. Link the script in the Plex Post Processing window.

I would so appreciate ANY help you fine people can toss my way, and PLEASE explain this like I’m 5, step by step, because I can’t afford to lose any more hair I’m pulling out trying to do this on my own.

Using RTF won’t work. You need to save as a simple text file (not rich text).
