Hi drzoidberg33. I appreciate the response and my apologies if the tone of my top comment came across as a bit gruff. I noticed a changed poster late last night for a movie that has been in my library for well over a decade and it was pretty off putting to see the change.
And so the issue I am having is the issue noted in the discussions linked below.
But in short, I would prefer that when a movie poster is set, it should never change on its own. Full stop.
My library is pretty old and of decent size and so when I add something new to it, I will manually do a scan and it will match and set a poster and that all works as expected.
But then I will notice at a later date that the original poster has been replaced – and recently, the posters look pretty bad (I prefer the original poster, or a poster based off of the cover of the physical media).

I am aware of the feature request for an option to lock posters (here: Lock Posters) but that would be a reactive setting, whereas a proactive change that simply leaves all posters alone would be a much better way to go about it, IMO.
